Reclaim your yard, stop the regrowth

Old stumps don’t just look bad. They sprout new shoots, attract termites and carpenter ants, get in the way of mowing, and create a real tripping hazard. Grinding is the cleanest, fastest way to be done with them for good.

Our grinders chew the stump well below ground level, leaving you with mulch you can use or have hauled away, and a smooth surface ready for sod, landscaping, or new planting.

Stump grinding handles:

  • Single stumps or whole yards full of them
  • Stumps left behind by other companies
  • Large-diameter hardwood and pine stumps
  • Surface roots that interfere with mowing
  • Grinding below grade for replanting or sod

Pair it with removal and save

Already having a tree removed? We can grind the stump in the same visit so the whole job is finished in one trip. Just ask for both when you request your estimate.

A photo of the tree and what is around it tells us more than a description can.

If you can see downed power lines, stay well away from the tree and contact your utility and 911 before anyone approaches it.

Stump Grinding FAQs

What’s the difference between stump grinding and stump removal?
Stump grinding uses a machine to grind the stump down below ground level, which is faster, cleaner, and less disruptive than digging out the entire root ball. For most yards, grinding is the best option.
How deep do you grind the stump?
We typically grind 4 to 6 inches below grade, deep enough to plant grass, lay sod, or landscape over the area.
Do you remove the grindings?
We can leave the mulch for you to reuse or haul it away, whichever you prefer. Just let us know when you request your estimate.
